You guide your snakebirds through various obstacles to reach a portal at the end of each of its more than 50 levels. The game has a vibrant and cartoony presentation, but its puzzles are far from being simple or easy. As you would expect, it carries with it the characteristics of both animals, with the dextrous flexibility of the former, combined with the striking and feathery exterior of the latter. The later levels introduce extra objects and obstacles including multiple snakes, blocks and warps.In Snakebird, you play as, well, a Snakebird, a chimera-like creature that was born from the melding of a snake and a bird. The levels are unlocked in branching paths on the level map. ![]() There are 53 levels in total, 46 normal levels, 6 star levels and a final level which is unlocked after all other levels are completed. The animals can get stuck and they die if they fall into the water or onto spikes, but the game provides an unlimited amount of undo moves. They grow longer with each item of fruit they eat and the player must use this ability strategically to solve the puzzles. After unlocking the exit, all snakebirds need to be moved head-first into the exit to complete the level. ![]() To complete a level all the fruit scattered around the level must be eaten to unlock the exit. The snakebirds can rise by moving upwards, as long as there a body part below, and when falling the snakebird retains the last form. The player can move the snakebirds around head-first, with some particular elements for movement.
